ixia: the think tank for public art practice
ixia are an independent voice for public art, initiating debates, promoting research and encouraging innovation and change.

For decades public art has played an increasing important role in shaping the environment but there is still an absence of effective policy guidelines, and a lack of public understanding of artistic practice. This has resulted in poor support structures, poor strategic thinking and a rather limited understanding of short and long-term quality issues.
ixia are a full-time research based organisation at the centre of discussions into how the policies and processes that are used can be further developed to progress the roles of artists within the public realm.
